Catalog of Services

Fertilizer:  Top quality professional grade fertilizers are applied to your lawn.  The proper fertilizer is used
for each season.

Pre-emergent:  Controls crabgrass and narrow leaf weeds by preventing seed germination.

Post-emergent:  Controls most broadleaf weeds, including dandelions, plantain and poison ivy.

Insect control:  Controls grubs, chinch bugs, ants, fleas, and other pests.

Fungicide:  Controls diseases that can attack your lawn such as brown patch, leaf spot, and dollar spot.

Lime:  Regulates the pH of your soil and should be applied annually.

Aeration of Property:  This process entails removing cores of soil, which allows more oxygen and
nutrients into the lawn and promotes better root growth.  This process also helps control thatch buildup.

Dethatching of Property:  This process removes the buildup of thatch from the lawn.  Thatch is a
buildup of dead roots, crowns and stems of plants.  When thatch becomes thicker than .5 inches, it can
become detrimental to the lawn.

Seeding of Property:  A seed that compliments your lawn will be applied to give your yard a healthier and
more full look.  We also have premium starter fertilizers available for quicker and healthier seed
germination.  A combination starter fertilizer/crabgrass control is always recommended.

Fertilizers are an essential part of a healthy lawn.  Each fertilizer contains many nutrients a
lawn needs to be healthy.  The three main ingredients in all types of fertilizers are Nitrogen,
Phosphorus, and Soluble Potash (potassium).  They are measured in a percentage based
on weight.  A 25-2-5 fertilizer will be 25% Nitrogen, 2% Phosphorus, and 5% Soluble
Potash.

Nitrogen is essential as it encourages foliage growth.
Phosphorus is essential to the lawn because it helps promote strong, healthy roots as well
as setting flower buds.
Potash contributes to the overall health and strength of plants.
When a fertilizer contains all 3 nutrients, it is called a complete fertilizer.  Incomplete
fertilizers are also available if you only need strength in certain areas, such as a 0-15-15.
This fertilizer contains no Nitrogen by weight, only phosphorus and potash.
Other nutrients included may be as follows:  Calcium, iron, magnesium, and others.

A soil test is the best way to determine what your lawn is lacking.  If your pH is too high or
too low, even if the nutrient is available, the grass may not be able to access the nutrient.
